Washington (International Desk): Iran’s Supreme National Security Council announced on Wednesday that the United States has accepted the principles of Iran’s 10-point peace plan, allowing Iran to claim a major victory. According to state broadcaster IRIB, the Council stated that “Iran has forced the US to accept its plan, marking a historic triumph for the Iranian nation.”
Earlier, US President Donald Trump declared that a two-week bilateral ceasefire had been agreed upon with Iran. Trump noted that the deal is conditional on Iran guaranteeing the complete, immediate, and safe reopening of the Strait of Hormuz for maritime traffic. Iran has also committed to ensuring safe passage through the strategic waterway, while the US has reportedly agreed to discuss leaving control of the Strait under Iranian coordination.
The Iranian Council added that negotiations between the two sides will begin on Friday in Islamabad, Pakistan. However, it emphasized that this ceasefire does not mean the end of the war, warning that “our hands remain on the trigger” and any mistake by the enemy will be met with full force.
Iran’s 10-point proposal reportedly includes demands such as the lifting of all US sanctions (primary and secondary), withdrawal of American combat forces from the region, payment of war reparations, and recognition of Iranian control or coordinated management over the Strait of Hormuz. Trump described the Iranian proposal as a “workable basis on which to negotiate.”

This development comes amid the recent US-Israel conflict with Iran, which disrupted global oil supplies and raised economic concerns worldwide. Further updates are expected as talks progress.
