Bangkok, Thailand — In a stunning display of talent and determination, Mohammed Hasnain Mohammed Zohaib Kalwa, an 8-year-old gymnastics champion from Moreland Road, Agri Pada, Mumbai (residing at Dastgir House), has made India proud by winning all six gold medals in six different categories at the International Gymnastics Championship (Under-10, Level 2) held in Bangkok.
Competing against children from over 15 countries, Hasnain dominated the events including Floor Exercise, Horizontal Bar, Parallel Bar, Pommel Horse, Still Rings, and Vault with flawless performances. The entire stadium erupted in applause for the young star’s extraordinary show.
Hasnain’s journey began at the tender age of 5 when his parents recognized his natural agility and enrolled him at the Sports Park of India Academy in Matunga, Mumbai. What started as a series of state-level gold, silver, and bronze medals has now culminated in a historic international triumph, proving the proverb true: “The signs of greatness are visible from the cradle.”
In an exclusive conversation with Inquilab, a visibly shy Hasnain said:
“I want to represent India in the Asian Games and Olympic Games and bring glory to my country with my abilities.”
This remarkable achievement is a matter of immense pride not only for Hasnain and his family but also for his coaches and the Sports Park of India Academy.
