Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, is facing a fresh legal battle — this time brought by Sentebale, the African charity he co-founded. The organisation has filed a defamation lawsuit against the prince in the High Court of England and Wales, marking an extraordinary turn in what has become an increasingly public falling out.
Court documents allege that Prince Harry and former trustee Mark Dyer orchestrated a media campaign that caused significant reputational damage to Sentebale and disrupted its operations. The charity names both men as the “architects” of the campaign, which reportedly triggered a wave of social media backlash against the organisation and subjected its leadership to targeted cyberbullying.
Sentebale is seeking legal intervention, arguing that the alleged actions have severely harmed its standing and hindered its ability to carry out charitable work in Africa. The lawsuit adds to an already turbulent period for the prince, who is simultaneously engaged in separate legal proceedings against Associated Newspapers over alleged privacy violations.
The case is expected to draw intense public scrutiny given Harry’s personal connection to the charity, which he established to support children and young people affected by HIV/AIDS in southern Africa.
