LAHORE: Governor Punjab Sardar Saleem Haider Khan has said that the expression of confidence by both the United States and Iran in Pakistan’s leadership is a matter of national pride, adding that the country’s diplomatic efforts have helped avert a major global disaster.
Speaking at the Governor House in Lahore, he stated that the coordinated diplomatic initiatives undertaken by the President, Prime Minister, and military leadership played a crucial role in easing tensions and steering the situation towards stability. He emphasized that Pakistan has emerged as a peaceful, responsible, and proactive state on the global stage.
The Governor expressed these views while interacting with party leaders and workers, including Punjab Minister for Housing and Urban Development Bilal Yasin and Provincial Minister for Education Rana Sikandar Hayat.
Paying tribute to both civil and military leadership, he noted that facilitating a ceasefire between Iran and the United States—despite initial reluctance from both sides to engage in dialogue—was a significant diplomatic achievement.
“Pakistan has reached a point where the world is now looking towards us,” he said, adding that the trust shown by global powers reflects confidence in the country’s leadership and diplomatic credibility.
He further remarked that the Prime Minister and military leadership have made the nation proud, and that Pakistan’s international standing has improved considerably in the current scenario. According to him, growing global confidence is also encouraging foreign investors to explore opportunities in Pakistan.
The Governor stressed the need to capitalize on this momentum by strengthening the national economy and ensuring a conducive and secure environment for international investment.
