LAHORE: The Consul General of China in Lahore, Sun Yan, visited Punjab University and held a meeting with Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali at his office on Monday.
The meeting was attended by Registrar Dr Ahmad Islam, Dean Faculty of Health Sciences Prof Dr Rehan Sadiq Sheikh, Director PU Confucius Institute Dr Sobia Khurram, Treasurer Tasneem Kamran, and other senior officials.
During the اللقاء, both sides discussed a range of proposals aimed at enhancing academic collaboration between Pakistan and China. Particular emphasis was placed on further expanding the Confucius Institute at Punjab University, especially in promoting the Chinese language, cultural exchange, and educational programs.
The participants also highlighted the enduring and strong bilateral relations between Pakistan and China, noting the celebration of 75 years of diplomatic ties. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation in education, research, and cultural exchange.
The dignitaries expressed optimism regarding future collaborations and agreed to work closely on joint initiatives to create more opportunities for students and faculty through academic partnerships and exchange programs.
