Ankara — Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has stated that it was through the diplomatic efforts of Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif that the war in the region was brought to a halt. He made these remarks during a significant address.
Erdogan said that Turkey would continue its efforts for peace in the region and would not leave any country to face challenges alone. He emphasised that the ceasefire should not be viewed merely as a pause in hostilities, but as a genuine opportunity for lasting peace.
The Turkish President praised Shehbaz Sharif’s leadership and role, saying that Pakistan had played the part of a responsible and proactive nation at this critical juncture.
Erdogan also appealed to the international community to play its role in converting the ceasefire into sustainable peace and to extend support for the reconstruction of affected areas.
