Dubai/Washington: The United Arab Emirates has demanded the complete and unconditional reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, stating that no single country should have control over this vital waterway.
Addressing the International Economic Conference in Washington, UAE Minister of State for International Cooperation Reem Al Hashimy said that the Strait of Hormuz is an international passage and serves the common interest of all nations.
Reem Al Hashimy emphasized that the Strait of Hormuz is a critically important route for global energy supplies, through which nearly one-fifth of the world’s oil and energy passes. It also holds key importance for the transportation of many essential goods.
The Emirati minister also announced that the UAE will invest an additional $1.4 trillion in the United States over the next 10 years.
