LAHORE: Punjab Minister for Sports Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar has congratulated Pakistan’s young chess prodigy Saad Jahangir Manj on achieving the prestigious Arena International Master (AIM) title awarded by FIDE in 2026.
In his congratulatory message, the minister said that the entire nation takes pride in Saad Jahangir’s remarkable achievement at such a young age. He noted that Saad had also participated in chess competitions organized by the Sports Board Punjab in the recent past.
“This accomplishment is not only a significant milestone for Saad but also a positive development for the promotion of chess in Pakistan,” Khokhar stated.
He further highlighted that the recognition by FIDE, along with the issuance of an official certificate, underscores the importance of Saad’s achievement on the international stage.
Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar described the young player’s success as a shining example for aspiring athletes across the country, adding that the Punjab government remains committed to supporting and nurturing emerging talent.
“Such talented players are a guarantee of Pakistan’s bright future in sports,” he said, reaffirming that the Punjab Sports Department will continue to take all necessary measures to promote various sports, including chess.
