South Waziristan — Pakistani security forces thwarted a suicide attack in South Waziristan after militants, referred to by authorities as Khawarij, attempted to ram an explosives-laden vehicle into a military checkpoint.
According to military sources, alert troops detected the threat in time and successfully neutralised the vehicle before it could reach its intended target. However, the resulting explosion left 7 civilians injured in the surrounding area, who were promptly shifted to medical facilities for treatment.
The Pakistan Army reaffirmed its commitment to eliminating terrorism, stating that operations against militants are ongoing under Operation Azm-e-Istehkam and that no attempt to destabilise the region will be tolerated.
