Karachi: Members of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) have submitted a resolution in the Sindh Assembly recommending Pakistan’s Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for the Nobel Peace Prize.
According to the resolution submitted to the Sindh Assembly Secretariat, Field Marshal Munir has played a pivotal role in promoting peace and stability in the region. The movers particularly highlighted his “commendable efforts” in helping to de-escalate and prevent a full-scale war between Iran and the United States.
The resolution states that Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir’s contributions towards regional peace and global stability make him a deserving candidate for the prestigious Nobel Peace Prize. The document, signed by MQM-P lawmakers, has been formally submitted for consideration by the provincial assembly.
This move follows similar resolutions passed or submitted in other provincial assemblies, including Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, reflecting growing political support within Pakistan for recognizing the military leadership’s diplomatic role in recent regional tensions.
