ISLAMABAD — Pakistan’s telecommunications sector is on the verge of a significant transformation as Pakistani Resources Group has signed a three-year international roaming agreement and initiated preparations to obtain a Virtual Mobile Network Operator (MVNO) license from the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) for the launch of its e-ZUMA SIM service backed by a US-based network.
According to sources, the e-ZUMA SIM is designed to offer Pakistani consumers world-class mobile services, with a particular focus on revolutionising international roaming connectivity. The initiative aims to provide users with affordable and seamless global communication solutions.
Once the MVNO license is granted by the PTA, it will mark the beginning of a new chapter in Pakistan’s telecom landscape — one that is expected to intensify market competition and drive down costs for end users. Virtual Mobile Network Operators function by leasing infrastructure from existing telecom providers, allowing them to offer innovative and cost-effective services without building independent networks.
