Salute to Shaheed Liaqat: The Hero Who Became a Beacon of Hope in the Darkness of Terrorism

LAHORE: Pakistan has endured decades of terrorism that caused immense loss of innocent lives and left deep psychological, social, and economic scars on the country. Suicide attacks and repeated incidents of violence at mosques, imambargahs, markets, schools, military installations, and public places kept the nation in a prolonged state of fear and uncertainty for years.
Yet amid this darkness, one truth has consistently remained brighter than fear itself: the people of Pakistan have never surrendered to terrorism. Soldiers, police personnel, tribal communities, villagers, labourers, teachers, and ordinary citizens have continued to stand firm in defence of their homeland, often paying the ultimate price.
The recent act of bravery by Shaheed Liaqat from the Jand area of Attock is a continuation of this long national legacy of sacrifice. An ordinary villager, without official authority, advanced training, or protective equipment, courageously stepped forward to stop a suicide bomber, placing his own life in grave danger to save others.
Similarly, the swift and courageous response of Attock Police at the Khushhal Garh check post reflects the ongoing commitment of law enforcement agencies in the fight against terrorism. Their actions highlight a critical reality: the war against terrorism is not only fought with weapons, but also with courage, vigilance, and unity.
Despite immense sacrifices, Pakistan has remained resilient. Markets have reopened, educational institutions have resumed normal activity, cultural life has revived, and society has continued to move forward with determination.
From Aitzaz Hasan to Shaheed Liaqat, Pakistan continues to produce brave individuals who choose action over fear in the face of danger. These heroes stand as a testament to the resilience of the nation, and their sacrifices continue to safeguard Pakistan’s future.
