Washington — US President Donald Trump said he is confident a deal with Iran will be reached within the coming week, telling an American television network that the agreement would include an extension of the ceasefire and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz to international shipping.
Trump also addressed reports of a communication breakdown, saying Iran had not formally notified the US of any halt in ceasefire message exchanges. He added that a pause in communications does not mean America would resume bombing Iran.
