CHINIOT: Federal Minister for Board of Investment Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to expanding healthcare access, promoting investment and accelerating infrastructure development, saying these initiatives are essential for sustainable economic growth and public welfare.
The minister made the remarks during a visit to a free medical camp organised at Chak No. 134-JB, Lonewala, Chiniot, with the support of Islamia Hospital Chiniot. The camp provided free medical consultations and treatment to underprivileged patients.
During his visit, Qaiser Sheikh met patients, healthcare professionals and local residents, and appreciated the efforts of the organisers in providing medical services to underserved communities.
Speaking to reporters, he said the provision of quality healthcare in rural areas remains a key government priority. He noted that free medical camps are providing much-needed relief to disadvantaged communities and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring access to basic healthcare services for all citizens.
Highlighting the government’s economic agenda, the minister said the Faisalabad Industrial Zone would serve as a major catalyst for economic growth, investment and employment generation. He said the project is expected to create thousands of job opportunities for young people through industrial expansion.
Qaiser Sheikh said the government is committed to providing a business-friendly, secure and investment-friendly environment by eliminating unnecessary approvals and simplifying regulatory procedures to improve the ease of doing business.
He added that Special Economic Zones (SEZs) are offering incentives, including tax and duty exemptions, to attract both domestic and foreign investors. Industry-friendly measures, including reductions in duties on raw materials, have also been introduced to strengthen exports and enhance industrial competitiveness.
The minister expressed confidence that the government’s investor-friendly policies would boost industrial productivity, increase exports and stimulate broader economic activity.
He also said overseas Pakistanis are showing growing confidence in the country’s economic policies and are increasingly exploring investment opportunities in Pakistan.
Referring to infrastructure development, Qaiser Sheikh said the Chiniot–Rajua Road has significantly improved regional connectivity and facilitated local mobility, contributing to economic and social development. He stressed that strong infrastructure is vital for improving education, healthcare and commercial activity.
The minister also praised educational institutions for maintaining high standards of transparency, noting that admissions to FAST National University are conducted strictly on merit.
Concluding his remarks, Qaiser Sheikh said public service, investment promotion and development projects remain among the government’s top priorities, adding that efforts to strengthen the economy will continue alongside initiatives aimed at improving public welfare.
