Hunter Biden, son of former US President Joe Biden, has mockingly called for President Donald Trump to be “nominated” for the Nobel Peace Prize, taking a jab at Trump’s claims of achieving peace with Iran. His sarcastic post went viral on social media, drawing a mixed reaction from users.
Writing on X, Hunter Biden said: “I am formally nominating Donald J. Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize. No president in history has ended the same war as many times as he has.”
According to the report, the US and Tehran reached multiple ceasefires, eventually signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on June 17, 2026. Despite the truce, drone and missile attacks on commercial vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz continued. On June 26, a Singapore-flagged commercial ship was struck by an explosive drone, damaging its upper structure. The following day, a Panama-flagged oil tanker was also attacked.
In response, President Trump ordered the US military to carry out airstrikes inside Iran. US Central Command (CENTCOM) targeted missile depots, drone launch sites, and coastal radar systems along Iran’s coastline. Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), for its part, accused the US of violating the recently reached agreement and launched retaliatory strikes.
Hunter Biden mocked Trump’s claim that he had stopped or ended eight major wars, saving millions of lives, and therefore deserved the Nobel Peace Prize. A few months earlier, Trump had said: “They think eight wars aren’t enough, even though nobody has stopped a single one. In principle, you should get a Nobel Prize for every war you stop.”
Responding to this, Hunter Biden wrote in his post: “Our esteemed leader has ended the war with Iran at least 38 times, according to CNN. No president in history has done that, and he’s about to end it a few more times.” He added that this was a “record” the Nobel Committee should certainly take into account, ending his post with: “Thank you for your attention to this matter!”
