Iranian president says the Supreme Leader’s martyrdom will further strengthen the Iranian nation’s resolve, unity, and spirit of resistance
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, in a special message to the nation ahead of the official funeral rites of former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, said that his leader’s martyrdom is not the end of a journey but the beginning of a new chapter.
According to Iran’s state broadcaster Press TV, President Pezeshkian said in his message that Ali Khamenei’s martyrdom would further strengthen the Iranian nation’s resolve, unity, and spirit of resistance. “Our leader’s martyrdom is not the end of this path but the beginning of a new chapter,” he said.
President Pezeshkian said Iran would move forward with even greater resolve to safeguard its national sovereignty, core principles, and national interests, and that the country’s leadership would continue its journey with the trust of the people and national unity. He appealed to the Iranian people to demonstrate unity, patience, and solidarity at this critical juncture and to play their part in the country’s stability and security.
The president also reaffirmed his commitment that Iran would remain steadfast in its national objectives and policies and would not let the sacrifices of the martyrs go in vain.
The statement comes as preparations continue in Iran for the official funeral rites of Ali Khamenei, which are expected to be attended by senior government, political, and religious figures from various countries. Analysts say President Pezeshkian’s message is intended to reassure the Iranian public and project political stability.
