LAHORE: The Lahore Police and the Lahore Bar Association have agreed to establish a dedicated Police Khidmat Markaz at the Lahore Sessions Court to improve access to police services for lawyers, litigants, and the general public.
The agreement was reached during a meeting at the Capital City Police Headquarters between Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Bilal Siddique Kamyana and an 11-member delegation of the Lahore Bar Association led by its President, Irfan Hayat Bajwa.
The meeting, attended by DIG (Administration) Imran Kishwar, focused on strengthening institutional coordination and addressing matters of mutual professional interest. The bar delegation also included Senior Vice President Mian Tahir Munir, Vice President Humayun Zaheer Bhatti, Vice President (Model Town Courts) Asif Kanwal Khan, and Vice President (Cantt Courts) Zahid Mehmood Gill.
Speaking on the occasion, CCPO Bilal Siddique Kamyana said that close cooperation between the police and the legal fraternity is essential for upholding the rule of law, ensuring constitutional supremacy, and maintaining lasting peace in society.
Under the agreement, the proposed Police Khidmat Markaz will provide one-window access to essential police services, making the process more efficient and convenient for court users.
Both sides also agreed that the Lahore Bar Association would nominate divisional-level focal persons to improve day-to-day coordination and facilitate the timely resolution of issues.
The CCPO emphasized that the police and the legal community share a common responsibility to uphold the law and strengthen the justice system through effective collaboration between the bench, the bar, and law enforcement agencies.
The Lahore Bar Association appreciated the initiatives taken by the Lahore Police to combat crime and maintain law and order in the provincial capital, reaffirming its commitment to continued cooperation with the police.
