LAHORE: Pakistan Markazi Muslim League (PMML) has continued its rescue and relief operations in flood-affected areas, with its Khidmat-e-Khalq volunteers working around the clock to assist families impacted by rising floodwaters.

Relief activities are currently underway in Rana Town, Rachna Town, Ferozewala, Pathan Colony, and other flood-hit localities on the outskirts of Lahore. Using six rescue boats, PMML volunteers have safely evacuated 2,914 stranded people and 150 livestock to safer locations.

The organization is also providing cooked meals to affected communities. According to PMML, approximately 7,500 people are receiving freshly prepared meals every day.

To address medical needs, PMML has deployed 10 mobile medical boat units, which have so far provided free healthcare services, medicines, and first aid to 1,360 patients.

PMML Khidmat-e-Khalq Chairman Chaudhry Shafiq-ur-Rehman Waraich said that severe flooding has disrupted normal life across Lahore’s suburban areas, leaving many families stranded. He stated that PMML volunteers have been carrying out rescue, relief, and medical operations without discrimination since the emergency began.

He emphasized that serving people during times of crisis is both a humanitarian obligation and a national responsibility. He added that PMML will continue providing food, medical care, and evacuation services until all affected families are safely rehabilitated.

Reaffirming the organization’s commitment, Waraich said PMML’s relief operations will continue until every flood-affected family receives the assistance needed for recovery, adding that public service remains the core mission of the party’s Khidmat-e-Khalq welfare network.
