All Parties Must Equally Commit to Gaza Peace Deal: EU

The European Union has described adherence to the provisions of the Gaza agreement as a major challenge, while Saudi Arabia praised President Trump’s efforts in brokering the deal, and Pakistan also welcomed the agreement.
EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas said that Hamas’s planned disarmament in Gaza, if fully implemented, would be a constructive step toward achieving peace. She stressed that the success of the agreement requires full compliance from all parties involved.
In a post on social media platform X, Kallas welcomed the agreement, which was reached through U.S. mediation with support from Egypt, Qatar, Turkey, and international envoy Nickolay Mladenov. She added that verifying Hamas’s compliance with the terms of the agreement would be a major challenge, and that ultimately Israel must withdraw from the Gaza Strip.
She reaffirmed that the EU stands ready to support the next phases of the process, including the formation of a national committee to administer Gaza and the deployment of an international stabilization force. Kallas noted that the EU’s two missions on the ground continue to play an important role in efforts to build a Palestinian state.
Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia welcomed Donald Trump’s announcement of the historic agreement to disarm Gaza. In a statement, the Saudi Foreign Ministry said President Trump’s leadership and deep commitment to the issue were commendable and had been instrumental in making this major milestone possible.
Saudi Arabia expressed its full support for the comprehensive implementation of the agreement and emphasized the importance of a complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza, while reiterating its call for the deployment of an international stabilization force. The Saudi Foreign Ministry’s statement added that lasting peace can only be achieved through a comprehensive political settlement that brings a definitive end to the conflict.
Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also welcomed the progress made on Hamas’s disarmament under the Gaza peace plan, expressing hope that the move would pave the way for an independent Palestinian state. Sharif said Pakistan hopes that “concrete steps” will be taken to ensure all commitments made under the Gaza peace plan are fully implemented.
