Islamabad — Pakistan’s Interior Ministry has decided to cancel the visas of 284 foreign nationals allegedly involved in online fraud and issued 15-day one-time exit permits, officials said. Authorities said the move follows identification and investigation of individuals suspected of participating in criminal online activities, aimed at protecting national security and economic interests.
According to an official statement from the ministry, the suspects are accused of various offences including online financial fraud, identity theft and fraudulent financial schemes. Following visa cancellations, the individuals have been granted 15-day exit permits to leave the country. The statement added that further legal action may be taken in specific cases where additional investigation is warranted.
Officials said the operation is intended to curb illegal online activities and address complaints from victims. The ministry also signalled plans to strengthen international cooperation and liaison with the foreign governments involved to facilitate anti-fraud measures and information-sharing.
