Says PPP Has Always Struggled for the Rights of the People

LAHORE: Governor Punjab Sardar Saleem Haider Khan has said that the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) believes in public service and has always struggled for the rights of the people.
He said PPP members in the Punjab Assembly should raise their voice against inflation and for the rights of the people. He expressed these views while talking to a delegation from South Punjab, led by Punjab Assembly Parliamentary Leader Ali Haider Gilani and MPA Mumtaz Ali Chang, at Governor House Lahore.
The delegation apprised the Governor of the problems being faced by the people of South Punjab and discussed matters related to the Punjab Assembly.
Sardar Saleem Haider Khan said politics was about serving the people and resolving their problems through practical measures. He said the PPP was fully aware of the deprivation and challenges faced by the people of South Punjab.
He said the PPP would address the grievances of the people of South Punjab after coming to power. He added that the people of South Punjab had always supported the PPP, while the party had also stood by the people of the region.
The Governor stressed that South Punjab should receive an equal share in development projects. He directed PPP MPAs to raise their voice in the Punjab Assembly for the people of Punjab, particularly against inflation.
He said the PPP would create jobs and employment opportunities for the youth of South Punjab after coming to power.
Sardar Saleem Haider Khan said the doors of Governor House were always open to hear the problems of the people of South Punjab. He added that a front desk had also been established to facilitate the resolution of their issues.
Governor Punjab Extends Eid Milad-un-Nabi Greetings
In his message on the occasion of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH), Governor Punjab Sardar Saleem Haider Khan said the nation was celebrating the blessed birth of the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa (PBUH), who was sent to the world as a mercy for all the worlds.
He said following the righteous path of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) was the means of success in this world and the Hereafter.
The Governor said the Holy Prophet (PBUH) taught humanity the values of peace, tolerance and respect for human dignity. He described the Holy Prophet (PBUH) as a benefactor of humanity who championed the rights of the oppressed and underprivileged segments of society.
He urged the nation to renew its pledge on this blessed occasion to follow the teachings and noble example of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).
The Governor prayed that Allah Almighty grant everyone the ability to follow the teachings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and lead their lives according to his noble example. Ameen.
