LAHORE: Chinese Consul General in Lahore Sun Yan called on Advisor to Chief Minister Punjab on AI and Special Initiatives Ali Dar to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation between Punjab and China, with a particular focus on Artificial Intelligence (AI), emerging technologies and innovation.
Ali Dar said that under Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s AI Vision 2029, Punjab is rapidly integrating into the global AI and technology ecosystem. He said stronger technological cooperation with China could play an important role in advancing the province’s AI agenda.
The meeting also explored opportunities for cooperation and investment in agriculture and real estate, along with AI, technology exchange and innovation.
Both sides reaffirmed the importance of strengthening practical engagement between Punjab and Chinese educational institutions, particularly in areas related to technology, research and innovation.
Ali Dar said the longstanding friendship between Pakistan and China should increasingly translate into practical partnerships in AI and advanced technologies.
He added that Punjab is expanding engagement with global technology companies, investors and educational institutions to create new opportunities through AI and digital innovation.
He further said international cooperation in AI and emerging technologies would help promote innovation, investment, opportunities for young people and future-oriented employment in Punjab, while supporting the province’s broader transformation under AI Vision 2029.
