ISLAMABAD — By Muhammad Saleem The government has cut fuel supply for official vehicles by 50 percent for the next three months as part of austerity measures. In addition, a 5 percent reduction in the non-development budget has been decided for fiscal year 2026-27.
According to the notification issued, a complete ban has been imposed on the purchase of official vehicles of all kinds. Alongside this, a total ban has also been placed on foreign trips by government officials for the next three months.
Officials said the measures are aimed at reducing the burden of non-essential expenditure on the national economy and redirecting resources toward priority sectors.
