LAHORE: Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Lahore Bilal Siddique Kamyana has directed police officers to keep a close watch on the activities of beggars and fraudsters at major roads and traffic signals and take indiscriminate legal action against those involved in criminal activities through fraud at traffic signals.

He issued these directions while chairing an important meeting at the Capital City Police Headquarters to review progress on measures aimed at preventing theft and other street crimes in the city.

The meeting reviewed progress in curbing theft and discussed the preparation of comprehensive records of suspected offenders involved in theft and pickpocketing, along with measures for their effective monitoring.

CCPO Bilal Siddique Kamyana directed officers to ensure effective patrolling at identified theft hotspots and make full use of Punjab Safe Cities Authority cameras for the timely identification and arrest of suspected criminals.

He further directed all divisional SPs to personally supervise investigations into theft cases and ensure that investigations are conducted effectively and professionally.

The CCPO also stressed the need for improved supervision and command by police officers, with particular emphasis on professional policing and effective crime control.

DIG (Administration) Imran Kishwar, DIG (Investigation) Zeeshan Raza, DIG (Operations) Faisal Kamran, SSP (Investigation) Muhammad Naveed, SSP (Operations) Abdullah Ahmad and all divisional SPs attended the meeting.
