LAHORE: The Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) Lahore has announced its full participation in the nationwide strike scheduled for September 30 to express solidarity against what it described as the Federal Board of Revenue’s (FBR) oppressive policies.
The decision was taken during an important meeting of PMA Lahore, where participants agreed that all private hospitals and clinics across Lahore, both large and small, would remain closed on the day of the strike.
Committees have also been formed to coordinate with hospitals and clinics across the city and ensure the effective observance of the strike.
PMA Lahore warned that any attempt to forcibly reopen hospitals or clinics would be strongly resisted, arguing that such actions would violate constitutional protections, the law and human rights.
The association appealed to all doctors and owners of private hospitals and clinics to participate actively in the nationwide strike and remain united in protecting their legitimate rights.
PMA Lahore reiterated its commitment to collective action and national solidarity against the policies it opposes.
