More than Rs1.5295 Billion Spent on Welfare of Police Force and Their Families This Year

LAHORE: Punjab Police continues to prioritise welfare measures for its personnel and their families, with more than Rs1.5295 billion spent on various welfare initiatives during the current year.
According to a Punjab Police spokesperson, more than Rs432.7 million has been released in educational scholarships for the children of police personnel.
More than Rs428.5 million has been provided as wedding gifts for the daughters of police employees, while over Rs247.2 million has been released to support medical treatment and healthcare facilities for police personnel and their families.
The spokesperson said more than Rs233 million had also been paid to police employees under retirement grants.
Furthermore, more than Rs129.8 million was provided to the families of police employees as maintenance allowance, while over Rs47.3 million was allocated to meet funeral expenses of police personnel.
More than Rs10.7 million was also released as immediate financial assistance to members of the police force, the spokesperson added.
Inspector General of Punjab Police Abdul Kareem said the process of addressing difficulties faced by police employees and their families through the Police Welfare Fund and other available welfare resources would continue.
He said the welfare of police personnel and their families remained an important priority of the department.
