NEW JERSEY,): Forbes has released its list of 34 new billionaires this year, a significant number of whom made their fortunes through artificial intelligence companies. The 34 newcomers hold a combined net worth of about $321 billion. Fifteen come from the technology sector, most of them in AI-related businesses.
OpenAI co-founder Greg Brockman is the richest newcomer, with a fortune of $25.5 billion. Brett Adcock, founder of AI robotics company Figure, is worth $23.4 billion, while each of Anthropic’s six co-founders is reported to be worth about $15.5 billion.
Steven Hao, co-founder of AI firm Cognition, with roughly $5.8 billion, became the youngest new member of the Forbes 400 list of richest Americans. The number of billionaires under 40 on the Forbes 400 has risen from four to 10, and seven of those 10 owe their wealth directly to AI.
The shift signals that AI is no longer just a technology sector but a major engine of new wealth creation. Sharp rises in company valuations are pushing the stakes of founders and early investors into the billions within a few years.
