Doha/Abu Dhabi — United Arab Emirates President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan arrived in Doha on Wednesday to express solidarity with Qatar after Israel’s airstrike on the Qatari capital, which targeted Hamas leaders.
During talks with Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani at the Amiri Diwan, Sheikh Mohammed reaffirmed the UAE’s full support for Qatar, its sovereignty, and the safety of its territory and people. He described the Israeli attack as an act of cowardice and a flagrant violation of international law and norms.
The Emirati leader emphasized that the strike undermines regional peace and stability, warning that such aggression jeopardizes future prospects for peace. He also praised Emir Sheikh Tamim’s efforts to promote stability and dialogue in the region.
In a strongly worded statement, the UAE condemned the Israeli strike as a blatant breach of Qatar’s sovereignty, international law, and the United Nations Charter. The statement further stressed that Abu Dhabi fully supports every measure Qatar takes to protect its citizens and residents.
The UAE called for an immediate end to military operations, cautioning that continued aggression would not only endanger regional security but also have devastating consequences for global peace and stability.
