Yemen’s government forces have entered the 14th day of their “Dawn of Yemen” operation, with intense fighting reported on multiple fronts in the Taiz and Lahj provinces. Military sources said Houthi positions and vehicles were targeted in airstrikes.
On the Kahbub front in Lahj, the Homeland Shield forces, supported by the Southern Giants forces, clashed with Houthi fighters. Field sources said the fighting began after Houthi elements attempted to advance toward the front from the Wazi’iyah district in western Taiz. Yemeni government forces rejected Houthi claims of advances in the Kahbub mountainous area.
Fighting also resumed on Taiz’s western front, including near the old airport, Jabal Han and the Saleh gardens, where government forces and popular resistance said they repelled Houthi attacks. Airstrikes targeted Houthi positions and military vehicles on the Shaqab front of Jabal Sabr, south of Taiz.
In Masrakh district, an ambush at the Maqda site on the Aqrud front reportedly killed or wounded 12 Houthi fighters. More than three airstrikes were reported against Houthi positions in Mokha, while a weapons shipment near the northern coast of Khawkha, south of Hodeidah, was also targeted from the air.
Yemeni forces say the operation aims to restore state authority across the country. After advances along the West Coast, fighting has intensified on several fronts extending from Taiz to Marib and Al-Jawf.
