LAHORE: Punjab Police are continuing extensive operations across the province against violations of the Anti-Kite Flying Act on the directions of Inspector General of Police Punjab Abdul Kareem.
According to a Punjab Police spokesperson, 11,397 suspects were arrested and 10,849 cases registered across the province, including Lahore, during the current year for violating the Anti-Kite Flying Act. Police also recovered 599,340 kites and 19,361 reels of string during the operations.
In Lahore alone, 5,740 suspects were arrested and 5,466 cases registered. Police also seized 217,176 kites and 7,875 reels of string in the provincial capital.
IG Punjab Abdul Kareem has directed police officers to ensure strict enforcement of the law, making it clear that kite flying will not be tolerated anywhere in the province. He also ordered strict legal action against individuals involved in the online sale and trade of kites and metallic string.
The provincial police chief appealed to parents to keep their children away from this dangerous activity, warning of the serious risks associated with kite flying and hazardous strings.
He also urged citizens to immediately report incidents of kite flying by calling Police Emergency Helpline 15 and play their role in protecting lives and maintaining public safety.
Punjab Police reiterated their commitment to continuing enforcement operations to prevent kite-flying-related accidents and ensure public safety across the province.
