London – Following the United Kingdom’s formal recognition of the State of Palestine, the Palestinian mission in central London has officially been granted embassy status.
A flag-raising ceremony was held outside the newly recognized Palestinian Embassy, where the Palestinian flag was hoisted for the first time under its new designation.
Speaking at the event, Palestinian Ambassador to the UK, Husam Zomlot, invited attendees to join in raising the flag, saying: “Its colors represent our nation: black for our mourning, white for our hope, green for our land, and red for the sacrifices of our people.”
