Washington, (Reuters) – The United States has revoked the visa of Colombian President Gustavo Petro, citing what it called “irresponsible and inflammatory statements,” the State Department said on Saturday.
Petro, who has been outspoken in support of Palestinians, recently urged US military personnel not to follow orders from former president Donald Trump. The comments drew sharp criticism from Washington, with officials saying they undermined bilateral relations.
The Colombian presidency has not yet issued an official response to the US decision.
