Washington, (International Desk) — U.S. President Donald Trump, flanked by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, announced a proposed ceasefire plan for Gaza during a joint press conference at the White House.
Calling it a “historic day for peace in the Middle East,” Trump said the plan has received support from Arab and Muslim leaders. “We are very close to a Gaza peace agreement,” he stated, adding that regional stability and prosperity depend on an end to the conflict.
Trump further noted that Pakistan’s Prime Minister and a senior Arab Field Marshal have also expressed support for the initiative.
Netanyahu endorsed the U.S. proposal, with Trump expressing gratitude for Israel’s acceptance of the plan. The American president also revealed that an understanding had been reached with Netanyahu on issues related to Iran, which he described as part of broader efforts to ensure long-term peace.
