MUZAFFARABAD: Political tensions have deepened in Azad Jammu and Kashmir as the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) expressed serious reservations over a meeting held at the Aiwan-e-Sadr (Presidency) regarding a possible in-house change in the AJK government.
PML-N parliamentary leader and former AJK Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider said that the meeting at the Presidency has raised “serious questions” about attempts to influence political developments in the region.
Meanwhile, sources said that AJK Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwarul Haq has set conditions for his resignation. He reportedly demanded guarantees ensuring development funds and continuation of ongoing projects for ministers and assembly members loyal to him before stepping down.
The developments indicate rising political uncertainty in Azad Kashmir, as discussions over government restructuring gain momentum.
