The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast rain, strong winds, and snowfall in the country’s northern and upper regions during the ongoing week.
According to the PMD, a fresh westerly weather system is expected to enter Pakistan’s upper areas tonight (November 4), bringing rain, gusty winds, and thunderstorms — with snowfall likely in the mountainous regions.
The weather system is expected to remain active from November 4 to 5, affecting Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Abbottabad, and Haripur, while rain and snowfall are likely in Swabi, Peshawar, Mardan, Kohat, Azad Kashmir, and Muzaffarabad.
Light to moderate rain is also expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Murree, Attock, Chakwal, Talagang, Jhelum, and Sargodha, bringing a drop in temperatures across the northern plains and hilly areas.
Meteorologists have advised tourists and local authorities to remain cautious due to possible landslides, slippery roads, and reduced visibility in hilly terrain.
