LAHORE (Pakistan): Acting on the directives of the Punjab Chief Minister and the Inspector General of Police, an internal accountability drive has been launched within the Dera Ghazi Khan Police, leading to the suspension of several officers found involved in document forgery.
According to official sources, a group of police personnel allegedly prepared fake judicial documents, including remand papers, bail orders, and warrants, using counterfeit signatures and seals of judicial officers.
District Police Officer Capt. (R) Tariq Walait took swift action upon discovery of the malpractice, ordering disciplinary proceedings against a Sub-Inspector and three Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs). Among those accused is ASI Mukhtiar Ahmed Buzdar, who, along with other personnel, is suspected of forging judicial documents to manipulate official procedures.
Following the revelation, the DPO immediately suspended the implicated officers and ordered criminal proceedings against them. A case (FIR No. 712/25) has been registered at Civil Lines Police Station under Section 155-C of the Police Order. A special inquiry committee has also been constituted to conduct a detailed investigation and submit a comprehensive, fact-based report.
Emphasizing a policy of zero tolerance for corruption or misconduct, DPO Capt. (R) Tariq Walait stated, “Only honest and dutiful officers are the true strength of this institution. No one is above the law.” He reaffirmed that the accountability process will continue without discrimination to uphold institutional integrity and strengthen public trust in the police force.
