LAHORE: The National Women Journalists Forum organized a vibrant and historic one-dish party for women journalists at the hilltop of the Lahore Press Club — the first event of its kind in the club’s history. The gathering received widespread appreciation from the journalist community, bringing together women journalists from several media organizations for an evening of food, fellowship and celebration.
Among the participants were senior journalists Farah Warraich, Sadia Salahuddin, Sadia Qureshi, Forum President Farzana Chaudhry, Kanwal Naseem, Tamsila Chishti, Rafia Naheed Ikram, General Secretary Darakhshanda Alamdar, Vice President Mubashara Sultan, Azka Maqsood, Secretary Information Nabila Akbar, Lubni Khan, Iffat Alvi, Zahida Parveen, Sofia Yazdani, Zubaida Anwar Khan, Saima Iqbal, Mubashara Anwar, Raheela Mughal, Saima Nazir, Shaheen Rashid, Iqra Liaquat, Maimuna Siddiqa, Falak Zahid, Ayesha Tahseen, Aini Bajwa, Ayesha Fayyaz and Mehreen Jamil.
Participants prepared and presented their own homemade dishes, filling the event with diverse flavors including chicken achari, chicken biryani, pea pulao, chicken chow mein, pasta, nuggets, egg kofta, bitter gourd, traditional Punjabi saag, chicken kadhi, nihari, raita, Russian salad, biryani, chana chaat, potato chicken cutlets, chicken macaroni, gulab jamun, barfi, rasgulla and various cold drinks. The colorful attire, lively conversations and aroma of home-cooked food created a warm and joyful atmosphere.
During the event, senior journalists Farah Warraich, Farzana Chaudhry and Saadia Qureshi briefed participants on practical strategies for increasing income through side businesses. They also announced that a one-day business training workshop for women journalists would be organized soon.
Adding to the festivity, senior journalist Rafia Naheed Ikram distributed gajras among attendees, while Nabila Akbar presented jhumkas to the participants, enhancing the spirit of friendship and celebration.
Concluding the event, President Farzana Chaudhry thanked all participants, stating that such gatherings generate positive energy among women journalists while strengthening professional cooperation and interpersonal bonds.
