Lahore, Pakistan: The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) hosted a Belgian Catalogue Exhibition, bringing together over 100 leading Belgian companies across key sectors including aeronautics, construction, pharmaceuticals, IT, food, environment, steel, logistics, petrochemicals, and medical sciences. The event was jointly organized by Belgian Ambassador Charles Idesbald Van Der Gracht, LCCI President Faheem Ur Rehman Saigol, Senior Vice President Tanveer Ahmed Sheikh, and Vice President Khurram Lodhi.
Ambassador Van Der Gracht highlighted Pakistan’s resilience amid political protests, terrorism, floods, and economic challenges, noting the country’s remarkable progress over the past year. He emphasized Belgium’s support for Pakistan through trade and educational exchange programs, including the facilitation of student visas and strengthening of the GSP+ trade facility.
LCCI President Faheem Saigol welcomed the Ambassador and Belgian Trade Commissioner, highlighting the exhibition as a platform for Pakistan’s business community to explore partnerships with Belgian companies and access advanced technologies. He noted that bilateral trade between Pakistan and Belgium reached $739 million in 2024–25, with Pakistan exporting $543 million worth of goods such as textiles, rice, garments, hosiery, and tobacco, while importing $195 million in pharmaceuticals, machinery, polymers, electronic equipment, and steel waste.
Senior Vice President Tanveer Ahmed Sheikh stressed that such exhibitions enable companies from both countries to explore investment opportunities, while Vice President Khurram Lodhi underlined that continued engagement between the Belgian Embassy and LCCI would strengthen bilateral economic ties.
The event signals a commitment from both sides to not only promote trade but also foster regular exchange of business delegations, enhancing people-to-people connections and industrial collaboration between Pakistan and Belgium.
