LAHORE: The Punjab Directorate General of Commodities has directed 26 district deputy commissioners to strictly hold District Price Control Committee meetings every month between the 5th and 12th, as instructed by the Punjab Price Control Council.
According to a department spokesperson, the notification has been issued to the DCs of Attock, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Dera Ghazi Khan, Faisalabad, Gujrat, Jhang, Jhelum, Kasur, Kot Addu, Lahore, Lodhran, Mandi Bahauddin, Mianwali, Multan, Murree, Muzaffargarh, Nankana Sahib, Narowal, Okara and Rajanpur.
The aim of these meetings is to maintain stability in the prices of essential items across the province.
The notification further states that Extra Assistant Directors of Agriculture Marketing will act as secretaries of the committees. They have been instructed to ensure the meetings are held regularly, make necessary administrative arrangements, and submit detailed reports to the authorities.
