A global investigative report has challenged India’s claims of military superiority, exposing significant losses suffered by the Indian Air Force, according to findings published by leading aviation journals.
An investigative report by Aero, citing analysis from the British aviation journal Key Aero Magazine, states that during a 52-minute aerial confrontation between Pakistan and India, the Indian Air Force lost four Rafale fighter jets. The destroyed aircraft reportedly carried serial numbers BS001, BS021, BS022, and BS027.
The report notes that India has failed to present clear visual evidence confirming the safety or operational status of these aircraft. It adds that Pakistan’s multi-domain operations severely disrupted Indian air capabilities, leaving Indian pilots effectively incapacitated.
According to the British journal, India’s overall losses included four Rafale jets, MiG-29 and Su-30 fighter aircraft, as well as a Heron drone. The report further claims that on May 10, a JF-17 Block-III fighter jet disabled and destroyed India’s S-400 air defense system in Udhampur.
The report also states that the Pakistan Air Force struck India’s command and control system in Barnala, dealing another major blow to Indian air operations. It describes the operation as the first instance in which an air force successfully integrated cyber warfare with conventional military action in a coordinated strike.
It is noteworthy that India’s Chief of Defence Staff, General Anil Chauhan, had acknowledged the loss of Indian aircraft during an interview with Bloomberg, lending further weight to the report’s findings.
