LAHORE — Punjab’s Communications and Works (C&W) Department achieved record progress on roads, flyovers, and major infrastructure projects during 2025, officials said on Thursday.
In Lahore, the 13-kilometre road from Quaid-e-Azam Interchange to Wagah Border was completed, providing improved travel facilities for city residents and border traffic. Work on the 24-kilometre Faisalabad–Chiniot dual carriageway reached 78 percent completion, while the 93-kilometre Multan–Vehari dust-free road project was launched in the final months of 2025.
Several key projects were completed across the province, including:
Chand Da Qila Flyover
Nawaz Sharif Institute of Cardiology, Sargodha
33-kilometre Lahore–Kasur road repair and rehabilitation
Nine underpasses and one flyover in Rawalpindi
Sialkot–Pasrur road converted into a dual carriageway
Raiwind–Pattoki (44.2 km), Chunian–Chambar Morr Kasur (21 km), Shahdara–Narang Mandi (34 km) roads
Remodeling of Jhika Gali Chowk, Murree
Sheikh Fazal–Chichawatni road (24.15 km)
Flyover at Bridge No. 47, Sargodha
Gujranwala–Hafizabad–Pindi Bhattian road (46 km)
Major long-distance projects completed during 2025 included:
Faisalabad Circular Road Bypass Ring (97.8 km)
Lahore–Jaranwala road (99 km)
Chiniot–Pindi Bhattian Interchange road (40 km)
Ring Road Southern Loop
Hafizabad–Gujrat road (45 km)
The department also continued work at a fast pace on 86 schemes under the Road Restoration Programme and 41 schemes under the Road Rehabilitation Programme-II. Additionally, working papers for the Local Road Programme were completed in the latter part of the year.
Officials said these initiatives reflect the provincial government’s commitment to enhancing transportation infrastructure, improving connectivity, and supporting economic growth across Punjab.
