ISLAMABAD – Pakistan’s National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has introduced a new data monitoring application aimed at protecting citizens’ identity information and enhancing transparency.
The innovative app will enable citizens to track when, where, and for what purpose their national identity card has been used – marking the first time such comprehensive monitoring has been made available to the public.
According to NADRA officials, the application provides complete details of data verification requests, clearly indicating which organization verified the identity data, the exact time of verification, and the nature of the verification conducted.
“This initiative will give citizens direct oversight of their personal data,” officials stated, adding that the system would also enable effective control over potential misuse of identity information.
The launch represents a significant step toward data privacy and security in Pakistan, where identity theft and unauthorized data usage have been growing concerns. Citizens will now have real-time access to their data usage history, empowering them to identify and report any suspicious or unauthorized verifications.
The app is expected to increase accountability among organizations that access NADRA’s database and provide citizens with greater confidence in the security of their personal information.
NADRA has not yet announced the official release date or platform availability for the new monitoring application.
