LAHORE: Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, chaired a video-link Orderly Room at the Central Police Office, during which important decisions were taken regarding appeals filed by Sub-Inspectors who were previously deprived of promotion.
DIG Establishment-I Suleman Sultan Rana and Additional Director Establishment Abida Mazhar were also present. A total of 105 Sub-Inspectors from various districts, units, and wings of Punjab Police participated in the proceedings through video link.
According to a Punjab Police spokesperson, the Orderly Room reviewed appeals and representations submitted by officers who had missed promotion opportunities in previous Promotion Boards. Following a detailed assessment, the appeals of 46 Sub-Inspectors were approved, and their cases will now be presented before the upcoming Promotion Board for further consideration.
Speaking on the occasion, IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar reaffirmed that the promotion process in Punjab Police is being carried out strictly on the principles of merit, seniority, and transparency. He emphasized that a clean service profile, complete service record, field experience, and intelligence reports play a decisive role in promotion decisions.
The Inspector General further advised promotion candidate officers to ensure that their Annual Confidential Reports (ACRs) and other service documents are up to date, and urged them to continue performing their duties with honesty, professionalism, and dedication to the nation.
