Lahore: The Excise & Taxation Department Punjab has introduced a public-friendly online biometric verification facility for vehicle owners via PAK-ID, simplifying, securing, and digitizing the verification process for both domestic and overseas Pakistanis.
DG Excise & Taxation Punjab, Umar Sher Chatha, said:
“This historic initiative marks a new era for vehicle owners across the country and abroad. Biometric verification can now be completed easily, securely, and from the comfort of one’s home. This facility not only saves citizens’ time and resources but also reinforces the department’s commitment to public-friendly initiatives and digital governance reforms. Vehicle owners, whether residing in Pakistan or overseas, no longer need to navigate complex procedures or visit offices. The old, time-consuming, and cumbersome manual processes have been completely replaced with a modern and convenient digital solution.”
Under the new system, NICOP holders and Pakistani residents can complete biometric verification entirely online, while overseas Pakistanis no longer need embassy verification or attested affidavits.
DG Chatha further explained that the system leverages NADRA’s advanced technologies to enable seamless online biometric verification through PAK-ID, reflecting the department’s ongoing commitment to technology-driven service delivery and maximum convenience for the motoring public.
