The National Grid Company of Pakistan (NGC) has taken comprehensive measures to ensure uninterrupted power transmission in Lahore during the Basant festival, scheduled from February 6 to 8, 2026.
According to NGC management, emergency response teams will remain on standby 24/7, with technical staff, vehicles, and safety equipment fully available. Transmission lines and grid stations across Lahore will be closely monitored to promptly address any technical issues.
Managing Director Engr. Altaf Hussain Malik said that the Punjab government has allowed Basant celebrations under strict rules and regulations. He urged the public to follow SOPs carefully to protect lives, property, and national infrastructure, and to avoid any activity that could damage the power transmission system or grid stations.
Engr. Malik assured that NGC is committed to maintaining uninterrupted power supply in Lahore and surrounding areas during the festival, emphasizing public responsibility to safeguard both personal and national assets while celebrating.
