Islamabad, Pakistan – January 31, 2026
The Government of Pakistan has announced new prices for petroleum products effective from February 1, 2026. High Speed Diesel (HSD) has been increased by Rs 11.30 per litre, while the price of petrol (Motor Spirit) will remain unchanged.
The revised prices are as follows:
High Speed Diesel: Rs 268.38 per litre (previously Rs 257.08)
Petrol: Rs 253.17 per litre (no change)
The decision follows a summary submitted by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) and approval from the Prime Minister’s Office. The hike in diesel prices is attributed to rising international crude oil rates and other cost factors in the fortnightly pricing formula.
The increase in diesel is expected to impact transportation costs, agricultural operations and the prices of daily commodities, potentially contributing to inflationary pressure. Keeping petrol unchanged provides some relief to private vehicle owners and commuters.
These rates will remain in effect until the next fortnightly review on February 15, 2026. OGRA adjusts petroleum product prices every 15 days based on import parity, taxes, margins and exchange rate movements.
