Quetta: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has stated that 17 security personnel were martyred during encounters with militants in recent terror incidents across the province, while the bodies of 145 terrorists are in government custody.
Speaking to journalists in Quetta, the Chief Minister said that 31 innocent civilians were also killed in the attacks. He added that in Gwadar, militants targeted a family, killing five women and three children. The victims belonged to a Baloch family from Khuzdar. “Those who claim to be Baloch are not Baloch; they are terrorists,” he said.
Bugti alleged that Afghan soil is being used against Pakistan and that intelligence reports suggest the involvement of Afghan nationals in these attacks. He claimed that Baloch militant leaders Bashir Zaib, Rehman Gul, and Allah Nazar are currently based in Afghanistan.
The Chief Minister said intelligence about the planned terrorist attack was received in advance, prompting security forces to launch an operation a day earlier. According to him, the bodies of 145 militants killed during the operation are in state custody.
He further accused India of backing such militant activities in an attempt to destabilize Pakistan. CM Bugti reiterated that the state would not surrender to terrorism under any circumstances and vowed to continue decisive action against militant groups.
