Lahore – Tech giant Google on Wednesday celebrated Pakistan’s 78th Independence Day with a special doodle featuring the country’s national flag.
Displayed on Google’s homepage in Pakistan, the design shows the green and white flag waving against a clear blue sky, with the word “Google” creatively blended into the background.
In an accompanying note, the company highlighted that on August 14, 1947, Pakistan gained independence and emerged as a sovereign state — a day to honor the sacrifices and contributions of the nation’s founders.
Clicking the doodle directs users to a curated page containing historical facts, national songs, and videos related to Independence Day. Google is known for adapting its doodle to mark key cultural events and milestones around the world, and has featured numerous unique designs for Pakistan’s national days in previous years.

In the T20 batting rankings, no Pakistani player features in the top 10. Former captain Babar Azam has dropped one place to 18th, while India’s Abhishek Sharma retains the top spot. Australia’s Tim David climbed six places to break into the top 10, securing the 10th position.

Pakistan’s Shaheen Afridi has dropped one place to 13th, West Indies’ Jayden Seales surged 24 places to 33rd, and Pakistan’s Abrar Ahmed improved three spots to 54th.
In the ODI all-rounders’ rankings, Afghanistan’s Azmatullah Omarzai continues to lead.
