LAHORE – From the historic streets of the old city to modern housing societies and open grounds, colorful kites filled the skies across Lahore as Basant celebrations returned with full enthusiasm.
Music, fireworks and festive sounds added to the vibrant atmosphere, while many young people experienced the traditional spring festival for the first time, expressing excitement at witnessing the cultural spectacle.
Alongside the general public, Pakistani showbiz personalities and social media influencers were also seen taking part in Basant festivities, sharing moments from the celebrations online.
Among them was Chahat Fateh Ali Khan, known for his comic singing style, who arrived in Lahore to mark the occasion. He drew widespread attention after posting a video on social media showing himself dancing while holding a kite. The video quickly went viral, drawing smiles from viewers, while many fans were seen taking photographs with him.
To coincide with Basant, Chahat Fateh Ali Khan also released a new song titled “Bande Bariyan Hain” on his YouTube channel and other digital platforms. The release sparked mixed reactions online, with some users finding the song entertaining, while others pointed out similarities with a track by renowned singer Hadiqa Kayani.
