On the occasion of Pakistan’s 78th Independence Day, the government conferred some of the country’s highest civil and military awards on prominent political leaders, military officials, and public figures in recognition of their services.
Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Raza Naqvi, Federal Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, and senior politician Rana Sanaullah were among those awarded the Nishan-e-Imtiaz, one of Pakistan’s most prestigious civilian honors.
Military leaders also received top distinctions. Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf and Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Sahir Shamshad were honored with the Nishan-e-Imtiaz (Military), while DG ISPR Major General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, former Lieutenant General Muhammad Saeed, and ISI Chief Lieutenant General Asim Malik were awarded the Hilal-e-Imtiaz (Military).
Senators Sherry Rehman and Syed Faisal Ali Subzwari were also recipients of the Hilal-e-Imtiaz. Air Vice Marshal Muhammad Aurangzeb was similarly recognized for his services.
Prime Minister extended an invitation to all political parties to join the “Charter of Stability of Pakistan,” aimed at fostering political unity and long-term economic development.
